Hey, you squares. Why you hatin'? This is a hip machine for hip people. Hip young kids doing hip things. Why wouldn't you want it? It's hip. It's also white. It's a hip white young machine for people with things to do, on the move.

Man, Microsoft's advertising is almost convincing. Surprisingly nice choice of music, though.

I will say if it turns out to not be an over-priced PDA I'll look into it.

I think it's really obvious though they are trying to aim it at the jap market with a name like "origami". I think their jap sales suck so they are trying this name largely as a marketing ploy.

I am fairly interested in this, a good laptop replacement that runs standard windows XP apps... just what im looking for. I personly dont feel its too big, i feel gameboy's are a bit too small anyhow (just small enough to get lost).

its all gonna come down to cost, ive got my fingers crossed tho =)

The Ultra-Mobile PC
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/umpc/default.mspx

I think there are going to be multiple manufactures of the unit...

from the "hardware page"

# Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 OS
# Approximately 7” diagonal display (or smaller)
# Minimum 800 x 480 resolution
# Approximately 2 pounds
# Integrated touch panel
# WiFi- and Bluetooth-enabled
