High Score Forum.

Post by Octopod »

Just wondering if we could get a high score forum section? I know alot of other forums have them but I think it would be kind of fun to have one here.

I like the idea, but is it an honesty policy thing, or do people have to post up screen shots?

Hey I like the idea, although trust is an issue. I'm sure most of user are capable of photoshopping a higher score into a screenshot

But do you guys really think that racketboy's users are those kind of people? I remember when Together Retro was doing Defender, there was a high score board and that worked out pretty darn well. I'm all for it. Will give me more incentive to play arcade games more often.

Would people really photoshop their score just so they can be the best in the forum? It's not like you win anything, it's just for fun so I'm sure people will be honest about it.

Well if we do this, I wouldn't even have a screen shot. I would try to reach or beat my high school in Castlevania and take a pic of the TV screen.

We actually have a high-score tracker built into our game database (which isn't populated with much data yet and needs some interface work)
If anyone is a php and css expert, lemme know and we can flesh this thing out.

I figured just take people at their word. To be honest if someone wants to make up a score they are only cheating themselves...or something like that. Ha! I guess if it is a crazy score other people playing the same game can ask for screenies or something but I dont really care. Kind of a one thread per game and who ever makes it maintains it thing like other sites tend to do.
