MSNBC at it again - top 5 reasons RETRO better than Modern

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

MSNBC at it again - top 5 reasons RETRO better than Modern

Ok, I'm not sure if this has been posted yet, but it is on the front page of the video game section of MSNBC right now.

I wonder if they got some flack for their last article like this...

ok, here are their reasons:

They play longer
They’re more challenging
They more straightforward
They’re more durable -------- ("Remember what it was like to throw a controller at a wall without fear of it breaking?" - from article)
They’re more creative

Ahh, MSNBC... thanks for these great insights into our hobby (dripping with sarcasm).

They don't play longer. Old games are short. Games with 100+ hours of gameplay were unheard of.

And about creativity, puff that is a too broad statement.

I think they last longer due to increased difficulty. It took me a looooong time to beat Ninja Gaiden 3. Also, a retro game is usually a lot cheaper than current gen game. So theres the more bang for your dollar argument. And Dragon Warrior 3&4 were a lot longer than most current gen games. And I agree games back then were generally more creative because they had less to work with and everyone knows that limitations spawn innovation and creativity. There is some issues with the article and he should have elaborated a little more on some of his arguments but a decent one none the less.

I know it's not Rage Against the Machine, so I'll save everyone from guessing that.

Actually, it IS from an industrial source. And if you search the lyrics, the lines are not a complete lyric. Each line is either a single line or part of one. And it started some kind of shit.
