Re: Silent Hill: Shattered memories
I am extremely excited for this game. From what I've heard and seen so far, since there really is no combat, I assume that the game's ai is adapting to your choices Psychologically and geographically, ie, if you're good at running away from the enemies, it makes the paths more difficult to traverse somehow.
I can't wait to replay this bad boy and observe the playthrough differences.
As far as being excited for owning my wii, I will say, Im "loving" my wii more lately than I have since I got the thing, but I still think it's too little. Nintendo can make good games. Why aren't they?
I appreciate the old school nods represented in Punch-Out and New Super Mario Bros Wii.
ESPECIALLY Punch-out, but where are my other franchises aside from Zelda and Metroid? Where's Kirby? Where's Star Fox? Where's a REAL Donkey Kong game and not some crappy barrel racing game (who's bright idea was it to make barrels into race vehicles?)?
And even if we got these games, would they be good or watered down? Smash bros and Mario Kart on the wii felt like they were made for the mentally handicapped and elderly.
I AM excited for wii sports resort, but only because it's the first game to represent the motion control that was seemingly promised the first time the wii was shown at gaming conventions, not the waggle crap we've been getting since 2006. Seriously, No developer has done crap with the motion sensing premise since the ORIGINAL wii sports, and it shows in the hundreds of titles branded "shovelware" by the smart consumers out there.
When Nintendo starts making games that are, on average, more good than seemingly made to make the most money from the common denominator, then I'll start respecting them again. It's about the games, not the money, Nintendo. If you take the lead, the third parties follow. It's up to you.
Oh, and No More Heroes 2 looks cool but I just can't understand the fan appeal for Brutal Legend based on whats been shown. Brutal Legend just looks like a standard 3d action adventure game, ala Maximo with some more stylish graphics. Jack Black's voice doesnt mean a damn thing to me and just because schafer brough us all Grim Fandango and Psychonauts, I have yet to see anything from the gameplay videos to make me think this game will come close to the glory of either of those games. It seems like one of those games I'll reserve judgement for until I actually play it, ie, buy it used for 30 bucks.
