Super Tecmo Bowl $25???
Ok, maybe I am stupid. Local used game store selling a cart only of Segs Genesis version of Super Tecmo Bowl cart only for $25. He tried telling me that it was popular enough to sell at that price. Is just an idiot or am I missing something??????

Wait, wait...is it Tecmo Super Bowl, Tecmo Super Bowl 2 Special Edition, or Tecmo Super Bowl 3? If it's the first, VGPC lists that as a value of $0.99, and you can buy it on Amazon for a quarter- minus shipping, of course. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say he's an idiot.wclem wrote:Ok, maybe I am stupid. Local used game store selling a cart only of Segs Genesis version of Super Tecmo Bowl cart only for $25. Re: Super Tecmo Bowl $25???
There's a place near me called GameTrader which sells Crash Bandicoot and Tomb Raider on the PlayStation for $30. As well as Super Mario World and Starfox for the same price. Nearly every game they have there costs about 40% more than is logically justifiable, but those ones particularly stood out to me. They used to have no idea how to price old Sega games though, so I got to pick up The Legend of Oasis, Rayman, Panzer Dragoon Zwei, Three Dirty Dwarves, Streets of Rage 3, Splatterhouse 2, Shining Force 2, and Gunstar Heroes for between $.99-9.99. They did, however, know to price highly on anything which has Working Designs on it, so the copies of Lunar: The Silver Star Story and Eternal Blue both sat on the shelves for $60 apiece as well as Albert Odyssey for a stupendously stupid $80. I don't even know how to explain that one. I asked them why they were asking $30 for Tomb Raider one time when it could easily be bought for about five bucks with shipping online and they said that they don't look at internet pricing, they have a market specialist suggest prices for them. I then asked him why the market specialist thought that people would pay $80 for Albert Odyssey when the game was practically unheard of, or if Gameboy Pocket systems should really demand $50 a piece, and he said that business was doing great because of it. "Whatever." I thought as I picked up Shining Force 2, Gunstar Heroes, Splatterhouse 2, and The Legend of Oasis for $20.
I guess their "market specialist" finally read up on old Sega game prices though, because the last time I went in there the prices on those games skyrocketed as well. Even if I found another deal like the ones I got at GameTrader I wouldn't go for them because I refuse to support a business like that. And for some reason people keep going to that god forsaken place instead of The Great Escape which not only specializes in comic books, music, and movies as well, but has a more friendly and knowlegeable staffs, AND buys and sells at MUCH better prices. This whole Capitalism thing would work great if people weren't so damn stupid.
