...or games that can't really be completed but you feel you put alot of time into and made adequate progress such as Donkey Kong or the like.
My personal list is very, very sad.
Rygar the Legendary Adventure PS2
Conan Xbox 360
Fallout 3 Xbox 360
Portal Xbox 360
I tend to spend more time reading about games on the internet and going out to purchase games than I actually do playing them. I also "game hop" alot so I expect to beat both God Hand and God of War sometime soonish and Ive also played alot of Lost Planet, Left 4 Dead and Call of Duty World at War multiplayer.
What games have you beaten this year?
Re: What games have you beaten this year?
Sonic & Knuckles.
Nothing I Haven't beaten before though.

This year I've passed:
Portal (PC)
Awesome throughout! I couldn't stop. I was late to the party on this game, but the combo of FPS and puzzle game works so well.
Braid (PC)
It took awhile for me to warm up to Braid, but by the time I got the hang of it, I couldn't get enough and it's one of the best endings to a video game ever, so it's worth going through.
Metal Slug 4 & 5 (PS2)
Short but sweet. I beat both games within 3 hours of owning them.
Peggle Extreme & Peggle Deluxe (PC)
I downloaded Peggle Extreme because it was free. I was surprised at how much I liked it despite my aversion to games with unicorns and rainbows, so I bought Deluxe and finished that off too, though I still have some Master Level missions to go.
Synaesthete (PC)
This is a very cool stylized rhythm game. It's kind of like old school Berzerk meets Guitar Hero. It's free too! Check it out:

Passage (PC)
The art game everyone is talking about, but is actually pretty lame in my opinion.

The Path (PC)
The other art game everyone is talking about, that is also kind of lame, but intriguing nevertheless.
Zone of the Enders (PS2)
I've passed it before, but I felt like another playthrough this year.
Knytt (PC)
This is a nice relaxing little indie game. Also free:

Might Jill Off (PC)
Another freebie. You are a chubby little submissive S&M lesbian forced by your mistress to play a game like Might Bomb Jack-- now THAT's masochism!

Gungrave (PS2)
This game has a very simple philosophy- Shoot everything that moves! It's fast paced and over quickly, but good fun!
Sin & Punishment (N64)
This is one of the better hidden gems on the N64. I wish I had a Wii to play the sequel.
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved (PC)
This falls into the realm of games you can't beat, but I play it fairly frequently in short bursts and I keep increasing my high score. I'm up somewhere over 166,000 which is definitely beatable, but whatever.
Gradius 3 (SNES)
Using an emulator's save feature is the only way I could accomplish this.
I've come close to beating Persona 4, Digital Devil Saga, and Nocturne, but those SMT games just take forever! I also bought Half Life II this year and I'm in the final chapter about to complete it. Other games where I've logged a fair amount of time in this year, but have yet to cross the finish line include: Okami, Ico, Peter Jackson's King Kong, LifeLine, Bioshock, Zeno Clash, Left 4 Dead, Defense Grid, Plants VS Zombies, The Red Star, Klonoa 2, Tales of the Abyss, & Space Channel 5.

Re: What games have you beaten this year?
Mortal Kombat Armageddon - PS2
Kingdom Hearts II - PS2
Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law - Wii
Metal Gear Solid 4 - PS3
Those are the only ones I can remember. I know I've played through quite a few NES and Genesis games, but they are ones that I have beaten previously, so I didn't include them in this list.

Re: What games have you beaten this year?
I'm pretty sure these were all in '09(I can't remember what I was playing in December)
Ninja Gaiden 2
Comix Zone(on Xbox Live Arcade)
Jeane D'Arc
Final Fantasy 7:Crisis Core
Resident Evil 5(despite some disappointment I had with the title)
The Dishwasher Samurai
Final Fantasy Tactics:War of the Lions(PSP version)
Lego Batman
Prince of Persia(the new one for 360/PS3)
Crush
Mega Man X:Maverick Hunter X(PSP remake)
Castlevania:Order of Ecclesia
The Orange Box(I didn't play Team Fortress, but that's all multi-player)
Couple unfinished projects:
Remake of Rondo from Dracula X:Chronicles. That damn extra Dracula fight, always screwed it up
I ended up playing Tomb Raider:Underworld despite being very disappointed in the demo, but didn't finish the last stage(was too obsessed with Ninja Gaiden 2 by then)
I didn't finish Dead Space as it was a rental and I had to bring it back
I never played Etna mode on Disgaea for the PSP
Ratchet & Clank:Size Matters
Guitaroo Man(PSP version)
That's it to the best of my memory

Far more than I care to list. But the collection just keeps growing, so my ratio of beaten to unbeaten never seems to change.
