Game & Watch: A dangerous path.

Post by General Chaos »

So I was reading through the new user welcome thread and saw someone mention game & watch. It made me think back to a few I owned (and unfortunately no longer have), and now I find myself searching on Ebay for incredibly expensive G&W units featured on this site:

http://www.gameandwatch.com/

So my question is, apart from finding them at garage sales, flea markets, etc., are there any good places to look for G&W (specifically online)?

Apart from that, anyone here collect them?

ive never given much attention to game and watch, they are a bit to pricey for me at the moment. I was under the impression that they were only released in japan so its news to me that they were realeased state side as well. Ill definately have to keep a look out for them at flea markets now. I think its a general rule that the only place to look out for something even remotely collectible is flea markets/garage sales and the like. The internet is probably going to be priced equally all over :?

I always have luck in the flea market....like my neogeo pocket that I got for 3$...or the atri lynx with what...10 games? 15$. So on so on....

The big thing, go every weekend....and try to make nice with the people you see that have these items. Its nice for the fact when you see them they go "Hey...I found this and thought you might like it so I was saving it for you first"
Yep, I know im the one ya love to hate.

Damn that sounds nice... I dont even know where a flea market is in my area. All I have are goodwills and they suck for something like a game and watch.

As far as yard sales and such...I never have any luck, think I saw a ps2 with no games for like 80$ once...which sounded NUTS to me sinse it was in a YARD SALE...

Oho, they're expensive. I fell in love with Fire when I bought Game&Watch gallery 4, though. One of my favorite games.

they are pretty overpriced at the moment. You can find complete versions of the more popular models. I would recommend getting a few of the common models to get your "fix", then see if you are still interested. Never start chasing the gems first, you may end up regretting it.
