Saturn Beat 'em Ups?

Post by krunkfu2 »

Can anybody recommend me some good, I prefer 2D but 3D is fine, beat 'em ups for the Saturn?

I'd do some research myself but I've been quite busy, I also haven't seen too many beat 'em ups mentioned in Rackets guides and most of the ones he's mentioned I've played (guardian heroes, 3 dwarves, die hard)

Thanks in advance for any advice

In Japan they put both Dungeons & Dragons games on a single disc.

Nekketsu Oyako is a weird 2D one that's sort of a parody game. It stars a guy who look like Haggar from Final Fight, and his son and daughter, who are hip Japanese teens. It's a fun one.

There's also that Crows game that was Japan-only. Looks like a Double Dragon clone, but where all the characters have enormous heads (instead of just some of them).

I think that's pretty much all of the brawlers on the Saturn, if you include the above posts.

Guardian Heroes is pretty good, though it's expensive.

Warriors of Fate. Beat-'em-up/hack-'n-slash Capcom goodness from the early 90s. Great game.

God Hand is easily one of my personal favorite games of all time.
I have most of the soundtrack on my iPod and listen to the tracks almost daily.
I cannot really even think of any other 3D brawlers that are awesome except maybe the Warriors.

If you have the opportunity to pick up Guardian Heroes, do it. I consider it one of the best (if not THE) best beat em' ups of all time. It really is a shame that more people didn't have the chance to play this game.

Well worth getting for the soundtrack alone. It's classic Technosoft music from Hyakutaro Tsukumo, the composer for Thunder Force V, Hyper Duel and Blast Wind. And the Saturn port has redboook audio.
