Do PS1 cables work on a PS2?
Do PS1 cables work on a PS2?
I'm asking cause a nearby store has a PS2 with no cables for $10. I have a burned out PS1 with cables.

are you talking about the A/V cables? If so yes they'll work on either systemAnayo wrote:I'm asking cause a nearby store has a PS2 with no cables for $10. I have a burned out PS1 with cables.

They also work on the PS3, though with the PS3 you're obviously best off going HDMI.

Cool. I don't have an HD television, so regular composite cables are all I need.
How about the power cable? It's that same thing that works on the Saturn/Dreamcast/PS1, right?

All legacy peripherals work with all PlayStation family (Including PS3) systems (Controllers, AV Cables, etc...) except for anything that needs a specialized interface such as the PS1's I/O Parallell and Serial ports, or the PS2's iLink and Hard Drive interfaces.
All older accessories that required a controller port are also compatible with the PS2 through it's controller ports, and the PS3 via a USB controller adapter.
Also, yes PS1 (The large model) power cords are compatible with the PS2, but not with the PS3 as it uses a large scale power cord identical to one for a PC.

Really?d123456 wrote:Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:although the negcon does not work on the ps3 when playing ps2 games on the ps3.![]()
It gets recognized as a dual shock which obviously has different mapping
I have the Pelican PS1/2 to PS3 controller adapter and I thought it was supposed to work fine with it on the PS3.
Oh well, at least I've still got a PS1 for when I get a NeGcon of my own.
