Is a 24 inch monitor (widescreen) big to the average person

I just got my new 23" in the mail today, and boy is it big. And I wouldn't really describe myself as the average person either, I'm just used to using smaller screens.

A 24-inch computer monitor is on the large side, I remember when I got my 22-inch and it was so much better than anything else I had used. However, compared to TV's it obviously isn't very big.

Compared to the 42" plasma in the same room my 24" looks tiny. Couldn't deal with anything smaller for the amount of multi-tasking I do.

I'm a laptop only guy...so yes, it's way too big! I get lost on big monitors sadly enough, I even work in the computer field but my workstation is only dual 19's, I don't think I could handle much more than that, might get lots on the way between apps.

I think the monitor I'm using now is somewhere in the 12" territory.
