Saturn S-VIDEO and AV Cable Comparison (Pics)

I decided to compare the difference between S-VIDEO and regular AV cables for the Saturn.
The game used is DoDonpachi. The TV used is a 42-inch Sony Bravia LCD

The top pic is regular AV cables, and the botton is S-VIDEO.

is it worth it?
after using component cables on the 360 to play an original xbox game, I got RRODed. So I got an original Xbox but I just couldn't play it on composite, it started to hurt my eyes. I went to the store and bought a $30 component cable for ps2/xbox . Although I used it for couple of games(I do not own ps2) I really couldn't handle it going back. Now I have Wii, 64, dreamcast using composite , and I do not want to test anything better I do not have S-video on my CRT

you def need to be using component with the Wii. if you ever pick up an LCD tv, switch over to a VGA cable to the dreamcast too.
But using a CRT without Svid, the only thing I would say to upgrade right now are the Wii cables.

I can get by with composite but anytime I can get Svideo or better I do. Component and HDMI is where its at though!

I definitely notice a difference any time I upgrade the video out of a game console. I got the S-Video cables for my SNES on my 32" LCD, such a huge difference. I'd get a VGA box for my Dreamcast, but my TV only has one VGA input which is being used by my computer. My PS2 has component cables, I notice a positive difference even when playing PS1 games.

I got component cables for my Wii, but my TV doesn't like them that much. If I switch it to 420P, the video will constantly freeze for a few seconds at a time. I still get a better picture with the component cables, but I have to leave it on 420i. Kinda annoying. I also can't play my virtual console games with the component cable, I just get a black screen. I'm not sure about Wii Ware titles, I don't own any.

I NEED to get composite cables for my Genesis and Saturn. Especially the Saturn because my RF adapter makes the screen all fuzzy, it's really annoying!

It may look better but it's still an awful port.

If your TV takes RGB/SCART (some flatscreen plasmas and LCDs still do), try that instead. It's a huge jump in picture quality again, and cables are easy to come across (or hack yourself) for older consoles that don't support 480p or higher.

Even S-Video makes me cringe now that I run all my old consoles through CRT arcade monitors directly via RGB. There's no going back from that.

my CRT has component but that is it
no S-video or VGA. I hate to change it , its fairly new(4 years) and really decent.
