Phantasy Star Online help/questions

Post by soniklife »

So I have been playing PSO V2 (Dreamcast) doing solo missions and actually having a lot of fun leveling up my character and finding items/creatures and continuing to learn things as I go. The one thing I can't seem to figure out is getting my MAG to do anything productive. Sorry if this sounds overly noobish but I was under the impression if that you fed it that as it leveled the character would grow to assist you in battle yet all this thing has been doing is leeching my resources. I am a RAmar lvl 9 and my MAG is leveling and I am paying attention to synchro an IQ levels but nothing seems to be happening. Any input would be appreciated.

Also another silly question but I am playing offline because there is no way I am investing the serious coin a BBA is getting these days and I had a question in regards to the downloadable quests. Were these quests only playable on the server or were they available offline after you downloaded them? And if they were downloaded were they made available in ISO form for all to enjoy? I assuming the were only on the server but I guess it couldn't hurt to ask.

The mag is actually useful the more you feed it you gain bonuses to attributes if i remember correctly it's +1 for every 2 levels. For instance a mag with level 2 pow will add +1 to your characters ATP.

If you take a lot of damage the mag charges up for a special attack but if you return to town the charge is reset. It's the yellow circle next to the hp and mp bar.

Yeah, giving your mag certain items will increase certain stats it has. For example, mono/di/trimate will increase strength, mono/di/trifluid will increase mind. Basically just go with whatever stat(s) best compliment your character.

Yep, mono/di/trimate help dramatically with strength attributes which I used to build my character to best suit my character.. 8)

Thanks for the tips everyone! I didn't realize the charge meter for the MAG took so long to fill up. I guess I wasn't being patient enough. Last night I was mindful and low and behold my MAG helped me fend off some baddies with its photon blast. So everything seems to be a-ok for now.
