Castlevania

Post by philipofmacedon »

Is it just me or is anyone else waiting for another full length 2-D Castlevania adventure? Don't get me wrong, I played Lament of Innocence and really enjoyed it. But it was no Symphony of the Night. I think it's totally great that platformers and SNES style rpgs have flourished on the GBA and DS but I want to sit on my couch, with no lights on, looking at a big tv and listening to loud organ music and electric guitars while I hunt Dracula. Just imagine all the power of a next gen console harnessed to give a truly epic and beautiful 2-D experience. Anyway, that's my rant.

The problem is that we are in the next gen. The average consumer wouldn't want to play something that's a step below in terms of dimensions, especially when we have things like oblivion.

I think an HD castlevania on the 360 would rock. OOH! That would be bitchin! Unfortunately you can't really use surround sound in a 2D Game, with the exception of semi-2D games like Space Harrier. Even on the wii that would rock. Its like with the metal slug anthologies. That will be my favorite wii game EVER.

well you could try Dracula X for the Turbografx 16..emulates nicely on the pc with magic engine. And the soundtrack is really good since it was released on a cd. In fact i´d say it is one best casltevanias out there
