Modding a PS3 arcade stick to work on Xbox 360

I saw this mod on youtube where there was a dip switch that allowed one to switch between PS3 and Xbox 360. I would like to get a PS3 arcade stick since they are cheeper and easier to find. Does anyone have any additional info on how I could do this?

The easiest thing I'd think to do would be to take the lockout chip in a Microsoft branded 360 controller and put it into a PS3 stick.

I wouldn't know how to go about doing this though.

im not sure exactly how it was done, but a buddy of mine used a cthulhu board like the one here -> http://www.lizardlick.com/pages/boards.shtml apparently it was a pretty difficult mod to do.
