Considering buying a Sega Game Gear

Being a person that plays platformers, fighters, and shumps, what games should I get for my potential Sega Game Gear?

Platformers: If any single genre exemplifies Game Gear/Genesis era console gaming it is 2D platformers and the Game Gear had plenty of them. There are too many to list here, but some of the best include the Sonic series (including Sonic the Hedgehog Triple Trouble, the first Sonic GG exclusive), Tom & Jerry The Movie, Bart vs. The Space Mutants, Krusty’s Funhouse, and the Ecco Series. (We’ll try to have a more thorough list of games later)
Beatemups: There is Streets of Rage on the Game Gear. Need I say more?
Shooters: A good number of quality shooters were available for Sega’s little hand held. The better ones include: Aerial Assault, G-Loc, Desert Strike, Super Space Invaders, Super Battletank, Choplifter III, Fantasy Zone, and Halley Wars

Shinobi 1 & 2 are the reasons I still own my GameGear and they're arguably better than the Genesis games. They're usually pretty cheap too.

I always think of how horrible the battery power on the thing was. And how it took six of the damn things too.

I used to like the Ninja Gaiden game on Game Gear, also Streets of Rage and Columns. I don't remember playing much else on that system.

Yeah, it's like 2 hours.

I don't see why everyone still says that the battery life is horrible, I use Energizer Lithiums and usually get 7-10 hours or more depending on how frequently I play it. Modern battery tech has come a long way since the early 90's, plus a decent 5.00 pack of batteries is infinitely better than the cheapos.
