What 3D games do you think have aged very well or will look well in the future?
I think Team Fortress 2 is not going to age at all. The graphics are simplistic and very Toy Story-like so they seem cool even after 5 years. The same goes to Portal as the desing is very industrial-looking. The water-effects are not good but they are not really important in those two games.
I also think most SMT games will age well given their graphical style. However the animation sequences of Persona 3 look aged even know so that kind of balances out

Anything that tries for realism doesn't age all that well because it gets trumped by the next generation of even more realistic games. Games with a cool and unique style hold up ok though, but the games that push the envelope in realistic graphics now, will be folded up and sealed in the envelope over time.
Games in overused genres like first person shooters don't age very well either. If you've played one, you've basically played them all. The only thing that makes one better than another are the graphics, the storyline (if any), and the occassional cool tweak to gameplay (like the gravity gun in Half Life 2).
What holds up over time is good gameplay and uniqueness.
i agree. if the game is going for a stylized look it will probably age better than its "realistic" brothers. i think cel shaded games like Jet Grind Radio look great till this very day. Rez and Cosmic smash also look stunning still, its because there simple
I am assuming that this topic is intended to refer to graphics only.
I've actually never played it, or seen it in action, but I have heard from multiple independent sources (including, I believe, the Racketboy article on games that pushed the limits graphically) that Metal Gear Solid still holds up pretty well.
I think Super Mario 64 and Conker's Bad Fur Day both hold up well graphically, though most N64 games look really ugly.
Also, the Shenmue games hold up, in my opinion. They go for realism, but not too much, so they still look beautiful. The interlacing is a little bit annoying at times, though. Though, really, quite a few Dreamcast games still look good in my eyes.
The backgrounds in Grim Fandango are prerendered, so I don't know if it counts, but I think it's still eye-pleasing.
Soul Caliber is still impressive,I just played it today.IMO some 3D games can look really good like Tekken 3,but others don't hold up very well like GTA3,its still fun to play though.
