I think you were wrong for actually paying, isn't the whole point of piracy to NOT pay for the stuff you want?

That is why I did not let them extort me for more money. I felt a donation was reasonable, and fair to expect. This was truly a case of trying to make money. There was a huge controversy with another member accusing the head guy of using donations for personal use.

I dont mind donating to some sites, it does cost money to get the hosting and such. But dont try to make a living on it. I would donate a few bucks to Racket for hosting fees and such for the site. It is fair if it isnt abused.

I'm not sure that they did anything wrong. Any time you join a new torrent site, you have the issue of figuring out how to build up your ratio. There are a number of tips for this such as:

1. Set your download speed to not exceed upload speed.
2. Find a torrent with a lot of leachers. Download a small portion of the torrent and stop the download. But continue to seed.
3. Find a torrent on another site and upload to this site.

And the list goes on.

Underground-gamer is a tough site to build ratio on. You really have to work at it and I was able to do so.

It's not that hard. Bet it's a hell of a lot tougher on a small site like wclem was.

It was basically impossible. It was set up to get money from people. I just wanted to let people know who may try to go at it like I did. Save your 20 bucks as it is pointless, you simply are not afforded the opportunity to build ratio, but can buy all you want. For the record, though I did donate the VIP money, I did not buy additional upload credits, so I was banned. So if you get into this site and want to be a VIP I suggest grabbing everything as fast as you can as the only people building any real ratio are the ones running it.

Yes, I know how to build ratio, and sometimes it is worth the effort. Some sites like bitsoup are super easy to build ratio. Some are kind of tuff, but this was someones way of makng money. He was basically selling PS2 bootlegs. By the way, they were the same torrents that are still floating around Bitgamer. It was just a bad experience overall, wish I had my money back.

When I hear ratio, I think math, and when I think seeds, I think gardening - both things I suck at. I'll stick to purchasing software and fruit at the store.
