Multiplayer Wii suggestions?

Post by fastbilly1 »

So I have my annual family vacation coming up next month and need some help on multiplayer Wii games. Since this is my mothers family there’s only 40 of us (I cheated and counted the newborns). And even though we are going to the beach, it is inevitable for it to rain heavily atleast two days (it has for the past forty years we have done this). So while I am planning on hitting the beach pretty hard, I always like to have a backup. In the past the N64 or Saturn has always been our safety, but finally the Wii is going to replace them for this trip. What I am curious of is if any of yall know good 2-4 player games that I have not mentioned below. These are not all mine, though most are, and I am always up for suggestions. I may have forgotten some aswell.

Have:
Alien Syndrome
Blast Works
Bomberman Blast
Boom Blox
Castle of Shikigami 3
FFCC Echoes of Time
Ghost Squad
House of the Dead 2&3
Kororinpa Marble Mania
Lego Indy
Lego Star Wars
Madden 08
Mario Kart Wii - 3x and access point so we can play 6 player
Mario Tennis Play Control
NiGHTS
Red Steel
Samba De awiigo
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Super Swing Golf - Pangya
Tatsunoko vs Capcom
Warioware
Wii Sports
Rockband or Guitar Hero – I know out of the family they own both several times so one will make it inevitably.

Need:
House of the Dead Overkill
Dokapon Kingdom
Kororinpa Marble Saga
Mario Party 8
Samurai Shodown Anthology
Sam and Max Season 1/Zack and Wiki - suggested but fairly difficult to find retail in my area. Good fun as a group.

Mix in a good chunk of the Wiiware and VC libraries and we have most of the games I know are good on the console. I am only looking for Wii games since I know most of the good ones on the Gamecube and VC/Wiiware, but if you have one on those that is lesser known that you and your friends enjoy I am always up for hearing about new games. The last Cube game I discovered was Cubic Lode Runner. Pisses the hell out of me, but it is fun.

We are looking at the Conduit, but online only multiplayer kinda kills it for me. Ghostbusters was also brought up, but I have not heard anything about the Wii multiplayer.

Edit:
Hardware wise we should have 4 or 5 Wiis, atleast 10 wiimote/nunchuck sets, atleast 8 gamecube controllers, four perfect shots, 2 hori arcade sticks, and if the nes/snes/n64 adapter is out by then, those too...

You might want to toss in Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles.

Bomberman Blast (Definitely bring this.)
House of the Dead 2&3 (...and this)
Mario Kart Wii - 3x and access point so we can play 6 player (Hell yes.)
Mario Tennis Play Control
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Super Swing Golf - Pangya
Tatsunoko vs Capcom
Warioware (This is required)
Wii Sports
Rockband or Guitar Hero (Do not leave the house without this.)

Need:
House of the Dead Overkill (Maybe)
Dokapon Kingdom (Dont know)
Kororinpa Marble Saga (Dont know)
Mario Party 8 I have heard that this has fantastic multiplayer)
Samurai Shodown Anthology (dont know)

You need to get Rayman Raving Rabbids. That also has good multiplayer, but it all needs to be individually unlocked in one player mode. It will still be worth the time and money.
Systems: SNES, PS1, GBA SP, Gamecube, DS Lite, Wii, PS3 (Fully Backwards Compatible), Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, a Sega CD, and a Sega Saturn.

I really hate that - if you want us to unlock things in single player mode, then let us unlock features of the single player mode. Similarly if you want us to unlock multiplayer features then lets do it in mulitplayer

Anyway, how about some Guilty Gear? maybe not a party game as such so how about M&S olympic games? thats good for a laugh but also needs to be played on your own to unlock all the events

I didnt even think of REUC, thanks Popo. It might not be the best choice for the crowd, now that I think about it Overkill is right out aswell, but Ill definitly grab it.

ZeroAX, Bubble Bobble Plus is a definite. Bomberman I opted for the console version since it has two more stages.

alienjesus, do you know if it requires motion plus for each controller? If so thats a no go.

AwesomeMonstar, to be honest I wrote that title off since I am not a big sports fan. But I will look at it again since you brought it up.

newt42, Rabbids is a good point, I forgot about it. And its sequel uses the Balance Board...now theres a thought.

Curlypaul, I have never seen Guilty Gear in the stores, ever. But if I find it I will grab it. It cant be better than TvC but thats the Gatchaman fan in me...

Thank you all for the suggestions so far.
