RGB on a Commodore 1084 help

Post by penfish42 »

So I recently picked up two Commodore 1084 monitors in the hopes of getting better video over my LCD HDTV for my retro consoles. One is a Commodore 1084 with 9 pin RGB input and composite and the other isa Commodore 1084S-P with a "blocked out" SCART input and composite. I'm very pleased with how the SNES and N64 look through the composite, however they are both capable of outputting RGB (the n64 is modded to do so).

So my question is, is it possible to install the blocked out SCART input on the S-P? Would it be better to get a converter from that does SCART to 9-pin? The 1084 S-P also has those round inputs they used to use to connect computer monitors with, I'm drawing a blank on the name right now. However, they are both for RGB according to the label under the input.

If the SCART to 9-Pin conversion is an option, I'm wondering if anyone has information on where to get one, who I can go to in order to get one made, or information on how to make one myself.

I've done a bit of research so far, and as of now the only solution i've found is to convert SCART to 15 pin, and then convert 15 pin to 9 pin. I'm concerned about how this will affect video quality. Any answers?

I know there are a lot of questions here, so thanks for any reply.
