Help with SEGA Saturn mod chip install, please.
So here's the deal, I've got a Saturn since forever and some (now) valuable games that I don't feel like getting scratched when I feel an itch to play them. A friend in England sent me a mod chip, saying I could install it and play backed up versions of my games. Trouble is, I can't find a tutorial for the chip that I have... found lots for chips that look a lot LIKE the one I have, but not exactly. Hopefully someone here can help.
I've taken pictures of the console, inside and out, as well as both sides and an extra angle of the mod chip. Any help would be greatly appreciated. You can view the images here:

By the way, because of all the other tutorials I've read, I have a little bit of knowledge (and I know how to solder). So, for instance, I know which ribbon needs to be removed and run through the chip, but I don't know (positively) which goes to "In" and which goes to "Out".

I knew I seen this somewhere else, not sure about the install but it seems you have the best chip.

No, not exactly. Mine still only has the single-pair of connectors on one end, though it looks extremely similar otherwise. There may be some info on that page that points me in new directions for my search, though. Thanks.

The swap trick is working fine so far, but I really would rather get a modchip in there and stop messing with the disc motor. Odd thing is, all of my games have backed up fine so far except for Panzer Dragoon Zwei. I get the opening cinema and then it crashes at the start screen.

If i were you I'd just try what seems natural. Even if it doesn't work model 2's aren't too too expensive. Though, honestly, your chip does confuse me a little, where'd you get it?
Don't that just look oh so tasty?

Like I said, a friend in England sent it to me. He said it should work no problem, but I'm wondering if it's specifically for a PAL system and won't work with an NTSC Saturn?
Re: Help with SEGA Saturn mod chip install, please.
Nah, it being PAL shouldn't have anything to do with it. It's basically just jumpers on the motherboard that tell the system what region to play in. Well, I forgot about the Hz. PAL is 50Hz while NTSC (US and Japan) is 60 Hz, although again, I don't think that'd affect the chip. As far as your personal chip, I think it's similar to this one: http://www.robwebb1.plus.com/saturn/sat ... uide_2.htm
Looks like your chip is missing the plastic connectors. This means you'd have to solder to every pin on the ribbon cable on the in and out. AKA- super pain in the ass.

You mean the plastic "In" and "Out" connectors? My chip has those. Can be tough to spot in the pics, but they're at the top of the pic in this one:
