I have the option to pay $300 for a total of 9 sealed NES games, including the original Super Mario Brothers and Castlevania. Looking at eBay, I think I could get about that much out of Mario alone, however, I don't know much about sealed NES games. Is that a fair deal? Any collectors here who could give me some tips on what to look for? I read a couple guides, so I know the H-seam is supposed to be 3 1/2 inches up on the back, and that there'll be lines on the top flap if it's been opened. I will post pictures as soon as I get them.
Thanks,
~Isaac

Feel free to ignore my thoughts... I don't collect sealed games but:
People who do collect sealed games REALLY tend to know the worth of the games. What I'm saying is, you're not gonna "get one over" on one. If the dude is selling them for $300, they're probably worth $300. One of the 'sounds too good to be true' situations.

I have never understood the reason why video game collectors will pay obscene amounts of money just because a game is sealed, if the game is used and comes with the manual and box/case and is acceptable condition what does it matter? a game is the same no matter if it's sealed or used.

well think about how rare it is to find a game that old with all the original contents. now think about how rare it would be to find a game that old that had never even been opened. its all about rarity and the collector mentality and having something that is way harder to find than something that was hard to find to begin with.

Never mind, I'm not even going to bother posting the pictures. No H-seam, so even I can tell they've just been put through a shrink-wrapper.
