Do you think TG should track PC games?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Do you think TG should track PC games?

Post by Erik_Twice »

Twin Galaxies does not follow records on PC games. Even though I got no response when I asked it seems the problem is "you may use some program to cheat or you may modify the game" and perhaps a bit of "Hardware differences".

I think the first point is moot as you can do exactly the same things on a console than on a PC. It may be harder to do but it can be done. In fact TG does not require you to record you introducing the game disc so you can perfectly use a modified copy. In the end I also doubt that you can really gain an edge by modifying the game while not being obvious enough in the recording, Also exploits and glitches are all banned so you can't use them.

On the hardware differences I don't think it's really important unless the game is running way to fast (Old games on a modern PC) or way too slow (Too slow computer). In both cases the recording would be disqualified so I don't see any problem. MAME records are accepted so it's not a big difference.

What do you think?
