Re: saturn rom carts
Are you talking about Saturns games or emulation?

Re: saturn rom carts
For the Saturn, all of the games are CD based. I don't know of any games on cartridge.

Re: saturn rom carts
i'm aware saturn uses cd's
but there is this cartridge port at the top of the system
and some games require that there be something inserted there (such as KOF)

You're thinking of a RAM cart (video ram cart). There's also a save-game cart.
You can also use Action Replay 4-1 cart which gives you both of the functionalities.
Re: saturn rom carts
The cart slot is used for a couple of things.
1. Game saves
2. Extra RAM akin to the N64 expansion pack
3. Action Replay/other cheat devices
I don't think the Saturn is structured in such a way as to allow the execution of game code from something inserted in the cart slot.

KOF '95 uses a ROM (instead of a RAM) cart.
Re: saturn rom carts
I'm a big Saturn buff and I think I've searched for everything accessory related. I've never seen or heard of anything like that. I don't think the Saturn cartridge port is wired to play CD images.

Re: saturn rom carts
oh geez dudes
i'm looking for like a programmable cart (think like gba flash cart)
but for saturn
so I can put the ROM stuff from like KOF, or other games that require the ROM cart to work
without actually paying for the game + rom carts
that's all
so i don't want to execute games from it
i want to use it as a programmable rom cart ... so i can flash the ROMS for the games that require them..
get it ?
