I recently saw some old reviews on Mechwarrior 4 and it seems a really fun game. However I read that it has problems running on XP because it does not run on campatibility mode. Does anybody how to solve this? Is it really a game worth getting?
And if I want to play using Joysticks what do I need? I guess I need two of them, how many buttons?
Thanks in advance

Great game and cheap too. Also I have no problems running it on XP and I find using the Xbox Steel Battalion controller works awesome and really sets the mood. Heres the link to get the controller running on a PC http://vt.beckament.net/ The controller is a little expensive but it is perfect for the game, good luck.

Mechwarrior 4 is the only Mechwarrior game that actually has no issues running on XP, unlike Mech2 and Mech3. You don't need a real fancy joystick for it. I used to run the old Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro and it had most of the functions I needed right on the stick.

Hahaha I wish I had a Steel Batallion controller
Since it works perfectly on XP let's see if I can pick it up on ebay with it's expansions because it's really cheap there and it strikes me as a game I'm going to love.
So double joystick all the way huh? I supouse one is for movement and other is for firing stuff and that feels awesome. Can you use pedals for something or there's no need to? I want to use as much stuff as possible.

The pedals are used, you can map them to do many things.General_Norris wrote:Hahaha I wish I had a Steel Batallion controller![]()

^Mmmm I see then I would need to pick that steeering wheel I want soon.
Could somebody post a pic of their setup? I'm looking around the net but I haven't seen any.
EDIT: What's up with all those XPLOSIV prints around on ebay? I hate those, they look ugly as hell.
