New version of Project 64?

Post by newt42 »

A few months ago, I read an article talking about the people behind Project 64 going back to work on their emulator. Since ngemu.com is being retarded, I couldnt check to see of there is a new version.

Does anyone here know where I could find the potentially existing new version of Project 64?
Systems: SNES, PS1, GBA SP, Gamecube, DS Lite, Wii, PS3 (Fully Backwards Compatible), Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, a Sega CD, and a Sega Saturn.

They've been working in private beta stages for years. New builds are often shared on UG.

I totally agree.. I mainly use emulators for only rare/expensive titles and to test other games I may have missed then buy physical copy if price is decent... 8)

I disagree on real console choice
while sure its the real experience
just think of the extra money and space it will take off your room.
Worse yet, those old systems you never know when they are going to just break on you.

Sure if you are hardcore retro guy, real console is your way to go
but for everyone else, emulation is 100% same game if you want to play it, save your money and space in your room.
Think about it, a shelf full of games that is going to cost you like $200
or a flash drive with ALL the games that will cost you almost $0

While these are valid points the n64 is a very durable console and it's controller is not very good to emulate unless you have an adapter for the pc. And not all games as i understand are 100% compatible in project 64.

As for saving room well what so important that you just cant have a few consoles around :Þ

I have most of the original consoles but enjoy the many benefits of emulation. For instance, I don't have to blow in a cartridge, play with smoothed high res graphics, play rom hacks, play fan translations and save a tons of space.
