Shadow Warrior - and old PC FPS
Shadow Warrior - and old PC FPS
I saw this game at Goodwill the other day. The reason it caught my interest was cause it was made by the same folks responsible for Duke Nukem 3D, which I'm really fond of. I decided not to buy it at first, but then I watched a video of the gameplay and decided I really wanted it so I went back today and bought it. I'm really glad I did, especially after having just beat the first level. I think I've got some kind of fascination for those old Doom-style raycasted first person shooters. I think it's got something to do with watching my dad play them a lot back when I was little and we had a DOS computer. Is there anyone else who feels that way?

When I was little I watched my dad play Doom and Flight Unlimited all the time. I miss those moments. *goes off to play some Doom*
Older. Not wiser.

Somehow I missed this one the first time around. Looks like there's an updated source port called JFSW. I'll have to check it out, thanks!

Shadow Warrior is pretty fun. Not as well-balanced a multiplayer game as Duke, but still a great game. I spent ages trying to get a really buggy Glide patch for my Voodoo3 to work on it back in the day. It was super buggy and actually didn't improve the looks very much. Ahh, DOS days.
As for Dads playing games, I'm obviously a bit older so I only ever got him to play Venture on Colecovision. My mom didn't like it for some reason I can't remember so she threw the game off the bridge (!). I don't ever remember Dad playing another game with us... (sniff)

I was playing this game the other day and I got to the mining quarry level. It occurred to me that the company in the game for mining is called " 神 zilla", but 神 is the kanji for "god". XD
