do psone ddr pads work on ps2 ddrgames
do psone ddr pads work on ps2 ddrgames
i recently traded a 360 controller for a ps2 and 2 spindles of backups
at least 2 are ddr games but got no dance mat
a local pawn shop has about 4 pads that are clearly playstation type pads
but if one was a psone pad would it work on my ps2?

Re: do psone ddr pads work on ps2 ddrgames
I don't think they do.

Don't quote me because i play stepmania with a hard-matt but i actually believe so. in theory it should be just like a ps1 controller, they work just fine in a ps2. so why shouldn't it work. though i think you should look into a hard-matt and get stepmania for free its a lot better because of the wide selection of songs and its free.

stepmania is where it's at, even if you usb adapt whatever ps2 pad you have. I had a nice metal pad that I broke the DB25 connector off of while moving, and i've been too lazy to re-wire the sensors to a controller. One of these years...

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.

Re: do psone ddr pads work on ps2 ddrgames
I didn't want to make a new thread for this so I figured I'd ask in here...
I just won an auction for DDR and DDR Konamix for PS1. Will a PS2 dance mat work? I feel like they would but don't want to drop the money on one before I know for sure...
EDIT: I should say that I am using a PS1 system as well. Not a PS2.

They work. I have the original style PSX pads, work fine on both consoles.

CRT, he's asking whether a PS2 pad will work on a PS1 console. Which I wouldn't think it would, but the way you have it worded would suggest you read it oppositely.

I just realized that too actually. Honestly though, I just won an auction for some PSX dance pads. I thought it'd be easier to obtain PS2 ones and then I found this auction...YoshiEgg25 wrote:CRT, he's asking whether a PS2 pad will work on a PS1 console.
