Post by NathanBarnatt »

So I bought a PSP on craigslist and I just realized now that it doesnt have an internet browser icon. How do I get one?

I'd guess you need to upgrade your firmware. What version is your PSP running (in system info)?

It was too big of a jump from 1.5 to 5.00. I updated to 3.something from a UBD. Now onto 5.00. Anyone using a Pandoras battery. Thats what I want so I can run emulators.

If you haven't installed 5.00 yet, hold off. I can't remember if you can get CFW if you have 5.00 OFW. With 3.x you can use a Pandora battery and a properly formatted memory stick to get CFW on there. Then you can enjoy the PSP in all its glory.

You upgraded to an official firmware from 1.5? Big mistake.

You don't need a pandora battery at all to use emulators, you only need the pandora battery to install custom firmware from an official firmware, and since you already had 1.5 you didn't have a use for a pandora at all. 1.5 has already been exploited and you can run the CFW installers from 1.5 all the way up to 5.00m33.

If you already had a 1.5 you could run kxploited eboots. I think there's a tiff exploit for 5.00 OFW but I'm not sure.

BTW what is a UBD? I've never heard of that. Do you mean a UMD?

Pandora not needed friend! Use the new ChickHEN easy installer, basically it uses a TIFF exploit to get the homebrew enabler running, then from there you run a little homebrew program called Hellcats recovery to flash the firmware with an older M33 CFW, then once you have that you can upgrade to
5.00 m33-6 . Took me 10 minutes on my phat psp that came with 5.03 OFW. I did it to my friends the other day also.
