AC ADAPTER SEGA MODEL 1 (ORIGINAL GENESIS) big model

hey guys

i found a Sega laying around my house
a old model 1, big bulky black genesis


i was wondering so i can test it see if it works , can i use a nes adapter for it

or will it FRY the genesis

i also have ''sega model 2 psu ''
....

the sega under the system says

DC9V 1.2A


the LJN nes adapter i got here
dc 9v 500ma
- -----0 --- +

or i have original nes ones too...

I'm no expert, but the difference in amps listed on the AC adapters would lead me to believe it's not a good idea...
