Tell me about SCART cables...
Fill me in here.
I live in the US and we don't use SCART.
Are they like really common elsewhere?
How does video quality compare to other cable types?

what do you use in America? - AV?
THere's 2 types of scart as far as I know, composite and RGB, with RGB being the best quality
certainly the difference between AV and my DC SCART cable was massive (im not sure whether my DC SCART is RGB or Composite)
I think composite is like the red, white and yellow wire thing
and RGB is a full rgb and a red and white (although you cant see this as theyre usually just plain black), not all TV's over here support RGB SCARTS either, I hope mine does though as Im just after ordering new RGB SCARTS for my DC, PS2, GC and Saturn :p

In the US, we have
Composite/AV/RCA: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Composite_video
S-Video: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-video
Component (probably like your RGB): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Component_video
There's also VGA, DVI, and HDMI for higher-end stuff

So would SCART RGB cables be desirable for the DC, Saturn, N64, etc?

yeh component must be similar to RGB SCART - although RGB SCART carries sound aswell
we also have S Video - and our audio connections are 2 or 4 (bi-wired) red and white phono jacks (RCA)
and yes I think of all the anaologue connections - RGB SCART would be the most desirable over here

OK cool.
What's a decent price (including shipping) for each of the different SCART cables?

Might be if I can be competitive.
The shipping might be the biggest challenge since I'm assuming most of the buyers would be in the UK
I might have to work with some of my connections in the UK to work out a distribution plan.

well tbh I found it hard to find 'high-end' looking ones - and I got all of mine off play asia, and they were very cheap - i think on average about 5 dollars - I wouldnt know what shipping price would be to America
Ill tell you what the quality is like when I get them (which hopefully should be by end of this week
