What Do You Think Of A Videos Section?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

What Do You Think Of A Videos Section?

Post by racketboy »

I wanted to get your thoughts on something...

What do you think about having a blog devoted to gameplay videos?
Post could be something similar to this post I did a while back:
http://www.racketboy.com/retro/2006/07/ ... -saga.html

I could give posting access to those on here that are established and willing to help out.

In my opinion, sometimes it is hard to properly give the right impression of the game with just text and screenshots -- videos can help fill that void...

I think its a great idea - Destructoid is pretty cool with the videos - but although it does occasionally touch on old gaming stuff - one which was purely of that ilk, all in one place, would be cool IMO

Video would be a great idea IMO. Because often with retro games, screen shots just don't do justice. It would take like, 100 pictures to start to add up what a 30 second video could show.

Videos are cool, so long as you don't get hurt with bandwidth charges.

I'm sure I'll enjoy them -- simply because I'll incorporate good ones in my screensavers. But as far as capturing and posting... too much effort. I'd much rather write overly verbose messages which bring the average thread to its death.

Well, I would be using Google Video or YouTube for now.
And I would try to find existing videos online first unless you feel like capturing.
