$5 for Defense Grid: The Awakening

This game is only $5 bucks on Steam this week. I had never heard of it before, but decided it was worth the gamble. I am so glad I picked it up. It's a very fun tower defense game with some pretty deep strategy. I just thought I would recommend it to you guys while the sale is still on.

I got bored with the demo. This recent Plants vs Zombies is the only tower defense game I somewhat enjoying. Its not really good, but there's some charm in it.

I remember when tower defense was big. Back in Starcraft. And again in Warcraft 3. I haven't touched the genre since.

So far, I've only tried the demo of Plants VS Zombies, but I agree there is something charming about the game. Pop Cap has a knack for simplistic, yet enjoyable games. It's kind of like bubblegum gaming.

I wasn't into PC games when tower defense games were big, so this is sort of a new thing for me since these kinds of games didn't really hit the consoles. I'm aware of them, but I never played the Starcraft or Warcraft games. I suppose if others have played a lot in this genre, Grid Defense wouldn't be that exciting, but it's still a solid game for just $5.
