TV stretching probem...

Post by RyaNtheSlayA »

Okay so this has been bugging me for a while but. When I am playing my PS2 or gamecube I am using the horrible composite cables (they work though) for my video. Well when I set my Sony bravia to stretch the 4:3 picture it doesnt stretch all the way, leaving a half inch on the left and about a quarter inch on the right. Now this wouldnt be a problem but when I set compatable games to 16:9 they look squished and of course 4:3 looks stretched so I there isnt any better way which really bugs me. And no, I don't want to play with black bars when I'm using a 16:9 compatable game. So any help? or am I gonna have to suffer with 4:3 and black bars, in which case, i will just drag the old CRT in here.

It doesnt really bother me as much as some people. Super Mario Sunshine looks just as good stretched but most PS2 games don't (I really don't like PS2 graphics in the first place, very muddy)

Could be worse, my CRT flat screen (for my old school gaming) doesn't center the picture correctly vertically. For example, when I play Castlevania on NES it's so bad that there's a black bar on the bottom and the top is cut off. It gets really annoying in a game like that when the top has the "info bar" where your health, hearts, time, points, etc is located.
