Panzer Drag Orta

Post by nateup2 »

I just picked up Panzer Dragoon Orta for $6.99 at Gamestop (and King of Fighters Max Impact , which I hope grows on me) and I have to say, it is pretty amazing so far! The graphics are some of the best I have seen from that gen.

I haven't played part one or two for quite a few years am quite rusty... or is this one harder? I was never a pro at these or any rail shooters, but I was still surprised at how tough the first boss was for me!

Dude this is one of my favorite games of all time, the bosses are all huge and ridiculous. Smilebit hit a massive home run with this one. The trick is switching between the 3 dragon forms when fighting bosses and finding which form works best.

If you've got either the Xbox HD AV Pack, Or Component Cables you can play the game in all it's 480p 16:9 HD/Widescreen glory.

Alsso if you play for over five hours, or beat the game on any difficulty you unlock the original Sega Saturn Panzer Dragoon in Pandora's Box.

I always loved rail shooter but never been any good at them. I find this one particularly frantic at times and the switching between types of dragoona and the rush backwards and forwards provide plenty to think about but do add so much depth.

I got this a few weeks ago and its making want to get PDS again, since I've now got all the main games in the series. I dont count the Game Gear version as apparently it has no plot and not even a rider on the dragoon

Yeah, it looks amazing in HD! By the way, I have the component cables... what is the HD AV pack?

I wasn't aware of part one being unlockable! That is fantastic news! Is it exactly the same, or did they clean up the graphics a bit?

I got this game cheap a while back too, played it for a hot minute and it was good. Still havent beaten the first two games, and am not going to allow myself to play this greatness until I finally accomplish that.

That's how I am with games. I have so many sequels I want to get into, but I don't like playing them until I go through their predecessors. Although most sequels aren't directly related in anyway, it seems like playing the most recent game in a series really diminishes the enjoyment you get from playing the earlier titles. That's assuming the game belongs to a series that gets better over time instead of worse over time.

HD AV pack is just Microsoft branded component cables, you're good to go if you already have component.

yes its very good and thats a nice price to. Still it'd be nice to see it done over on 360 with HD graphics. We really really need a remake of panzer dragoon saga but they lost the code.... it'd have to be from scratch as opposed to just a prettied up port should still be done. We need more Panzer dragoon!
