Cyclo DS evo vs. R4DS? & DS Lite vs. DS-i???

Post by Grappler Baki »

I hope i'm posting in the right section. I'm an EMT who spends hours at a time in a parked ambulance with nothing to do. I am preparing to go out a but a Nintendo DS and the necessary components to load it with old school emulators and roms. My brother had great success with this a few years back using a super key and a ds lite. I have found that the two best choices are the cyclo ds and the r4ds but the cyclo is more expensive. does anyone have any recommendations as to why i should buy one over the other? My other question is whether or not I should buy a DS lite or the new DS-i model. Is the DS-i going to give me problems with emus that the lite won't? Or will I be missing out on game releases if I get the lite? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thx.

I know someone on here will know, but I had no clue you found mod a DS to play roms. Thats sweet. Makes me want to look into what I could do with mine.

On a side note though, there are so many good games on DS. I've got a DSi; I just got back into handheld gaming. Broken Sword is on DS right now which is a big deal if you like adventure games. And Dragon Quest V is one of the best RPGs I've ever played. Good luck.

Don't bother with r4's. acekard 2 or cyclods are your best bets.

Always hear great things about cyclo. Personally, I went with a SuperCard DS ONE, but the firmware blows, so I run DSTT on it instead.

It's severely outdated, despite being the most well known. The general public catches onto these things kinda slow, as do Nintendo's piracy-tracking division, which do nothing but advertise the R4s even more.
