What's a good price for a Super Nintendo?

Post by StarFoxA »

I found a couple on eBay for about $50? Is that a good price, or can I find it for cheaper?

Oh, and is it cheaper to buy one that comes with games and extra controllers?

I've been keeping an eye out for a friend, recently, and I too found that $50 is the going rate but those are mostly BIN's. I did find a few for around $30, and some of those came with a game or two (most of the time they wont be games that you'll want). From the eBay home page, click on the "video games" category, then under systems click on Super Nintendo, then sort the auctions by "ending soonest." Some times you'll find some with a few hours (under an hour if you're lucky) left that have not been bid on yet, and are at a decent price.

Most I've ever seen them around here is 20$, but then again I'm in Canada. Should be able to find one cheap from a pawnshop.

Try craigslist, I got a SNES with Super Mario All Stars + World for $30.00. Ebay is a ripoff, try http://www.shopgoodwill.com if craigslist doesn't pan out.

I usually see 'em for $50 on ebay can sometimes get cheaper.. and most of the time come with no games or if they do are sports titles or games you'll likely never play.. 8)

I'd say anything under $50 for one in good condition with a couple of controllers is fair. $30 or $40 is getting to a "good" price for the buyer. It's a fairly expensive retro console, comparatively speaking.
