jet set radio future?
jet set radio future?
Just got the game, jet set radio future. Anything I should know about it? How's it compare to the original?

It's worth it, although I find it isn't quite as good as the original. They made the game a bit too dark, I didn't care much for many of the new designs of old characters and they eliminated the analog-motion spraying - which I guess some people hated as if they were quick-time events but I thought it made the original more fun.
Still, definitely worth playing through.

While it is great I did miis the analog sprays, as well as the color that seemed to disappear in the transition from the original.

Re: jet set radio future?
The tagging system is extremely oversimplified.
The game is more about crazy multi-layered levels.
The create-a-tag system is better in the sequel I feel, even though there is a major lack of fonts.
The game is pretty long though, it also has a ton of great music. I think it has more quality tracks than the original.
Overall, I didn't like it more than the original but I liked it just as much. If you want to go back and get all the characters that should provide some replayability, as well as collecting all the tags (known as graffiti souls). I didn't go back to 100% the game though, i thought the sandbox world was just too large to explore.
Another thing, the combat is forced in this game, which is kind of an annoyance considering the first game most combat was optional.
Still a great game though.

Yeah, I find myself listening to the JSRF soundtrack more... but the actual game is a different story. On a computer, your free to listen to whatever tracks you want, but while playing the game, certain tracks are entirely more offensive to the taste than any of the tracks in the original. (Specifically, Birthday Cake. God, I dreaded everytime that song came up.)

I FUCKING HATE Birthday Cake, Aisle 10 was one of the best songs on the game that made up for it though.

"Hello Allison, I wanna hold your hand - I haven't been - the same man since I saw you comin' in; let's have toast to the girl in Aisle 10!"
At least, I think that's how it went. Yeah, great freakin' song.
