Quick question on soft-modding. I can figure it all out from the various tutorials I have found on the internet, but some of them are old and there is one question I have unanswered before I begin. I have gotten all the basic tools except an Action Replay. Instead I was wondering if I could replace that with a Mad Catz brand memory card in an Xbox controller and one of these.
Item in Question
Can I load all the necessary data to a memory card with the controller hooked directly to my computer or do I have to have action replay? If its possible I can trial and error it until it works, I just want to know if it is possible before I start spending money. Thanks in advance for any help!

Re: XBox Soft Mod Question
I know it's possible with the right driver. There's a free version of Action Replay out there somewhere.
That's the method I used to get the hacked save onto my memory card.

Re: XBox Soft Mod Question
I did mine with a usb stick, there's a hack to get it to be detected in your pc as an action replay then plug it to your xbox with a usb to xbox cable and transfer the saves. This is what I remember doing about 5 years ago. Again good tutorials are here:

Besides, the usb cable you can later use for other stuff, I load media on it to play on xbmc when the pc is turned off. Just remember to unplug it when turning the xbox on or it will format it to an xbox memory card.
