For the alcoholics...

Post by durkada »

Hopefully I'm not the only alcoholic in the house. Regardless, here is something that will make a complete lush out of any teetotalers amongst our ranks.

I'm not particularly fond of beer, perhaps because most of my exposure had been of the generic american type -- stuff that looks like piss, and, I suspect tastes like it as well. A friend introduced me to Lambic and all things Belgian, and I have been hooked ever since. But recently, this brew from Canada has been seeping into my local liquor shop -- the secret ingredient must be crack cocaine. Its highly addictive.

Unibroue looks like goth silliness -- certainly has a silly name -- but there is some seriously delicious beer inside the bottles. There are two brands that I adore above all the others:

Fin du Monde -- easily the most flavorful brew, with many subtle undercurrents and a faint but delicious chocolately taste. I don't even like chocolate!
Troi Pistoles -- My favorite. Its not nearly as rich with variety as Fin Du Monde, but for pure flavor, its unbeatable.

And, if you are looking for a buzz, they are refermented in the bottle with a 9% by volume alcohol rating.

And they have one of them fam-fangled web sites thangys -- http://www.unibroue.com/products/bieres.cfm

Sounds good. I would have taken you up on that 4 years, one month, 8 days ago. 8) Not sure if I just killed this thread or saved it?

Beer isn´t all bad there are some types that are actually good. Ever heard of Bavaria it´s an odd name but it´s the best beer out there..well according to me anyway :P

oh my :P.. nothing better then a case of bud lite or natty lite. can't go wrong with the best. give yourself a little time to get used to it (anyone will tell you its an acquired taste). hard to get smashed on unless you feel like drinking a 12 pack to yourself, but mix in a few shots of jack daniels and cut it in half. i hadn't gotten shitfaced in forever until me and my buddy drank a 12 pack of bud and pint of jack. little rough since i hate jack, but after the first one or two just chase it with a beer and cig and you wont notice them :P

Killian's is my favorite. Second to that is Yuengling. I can't stand Natty Ice, it's so cheap and disgusting!
