anybody anal about their video games?
I just went to my local gamestop over the weekend and it just pisses me off that they have the games that i need to build my collection up and which are part of the top 25 games of all time for the xbox from racketboy and ign.com, that they have the game but no case or instructions or just a gamestop case or the case but no instructions. I wont buy the game unless its complete. Grant it i do have some titles that dont have instructions but i would hope i could find the instructions for these games but so far no luck the only way is ebay and sometimes its cheaper to get the game complete then to buy just the instructions. I do have the n64 but those games are cartridge and the boxes always tore up so i dont care about those only the cd based games. does this piss you off? it sucks that you go to gamestop or any other place for that matter find a rare game but its only the disk wtf? how come no one takes care of their shit? what happen to the case and instructions it came in? and more than that sometimes the disk is scratched to hell cant people put their games away when their done playing them? does anybody feel the same way let me know.

I can never understand that as well. I mean how do you just lose the case and manual, unless of course it's just thrown away.
The scratching of the discs is also kinda weird to me. Unless you own a faulty 360 that does this to your game discs, how can these discs get scratched up at all? I mean I have games that I've owned for over 10 years, not even a single minor scratch on them.
I reckon that there are people out there that need to get educated on how to hold a game disc. lol No, I'm being serious. I mean I watch videos on youtube and see some guys grabbing all over the underside of the disc and leaving all kinds of marks on the reading surface area of the disc.

ugh! gamestop drives me crazy with this shit.
And then when you buy the fucker all complete they put their stickers all over the guy. I've had 3 stickers on the case and then another sticker on the actual case artwork. I mean- come the fuck on here. Its just getting silly.

Yes I am very anal when it comes to getting everything complete. Unless of course the price is to good not to buy it.

i at least understand why people used to throw away the old cardboard boxes, i mean they dont hold up too well if you are using them a lot, so tossing it was an easy solution, but under no circumstance do i understand no case or instructions, the thing that gets me the most is with ds games, why on earth would you throw away a ds case, the games are so small i would be in fear of loosing the game! i too refuse to buy any ps1 game without the instructions, unless it is a really good deal(misadventures of tron bonne for fifteen dollars)

This practice is one of the reasons I've stopped shopping at Gamestop entirely. On the Amazon Marketplace most of the sellers sell complete copies of disc games, though you do see disc-only sellers as well. I can understand those, as some people put their discs in binders. One time I saw someone selling a PS2 game with case but no manual, and I couldn't figure out how that was possible. Who separates their manual from their DVD game for an extended period of time?

I'm totally the same way. Whenever I buy used, I ask to see the disc first. I got into it with a sales clerk at a local used game/movie store. The guy was offended and told me I shouldn't imply they sell damaged games. I was trading some old stuff in, I couldn't take my business elsewhere. But I told him off and will never shop there again.

I hate that, too. I once ordered a bunch of games from GS.com and every game in the shipment came without packaging. So ugly.

Trust me I don't like doing it and avoid to whenever possible but if our district manager comes in and sees a wall full of like new used games we get written up.nickfil wrote:ugh! gamestop drives me crazy with this shit.

Plus over time I've learned some tricks to get off any sticker without fail in about 1-5 minutes, depending on how old or badly the sticker is placed.
Also always ask to see the disc, company policy is if the customer is interested in a used game the employee must show them the disc if asked.
Most large GameStop stores are simply concerned with doing the most trade they can to beat their numbers from that day the year before. The smaller hole in the wall GS are where you'll usually get higher quality used stuf as corporate doesn't care nearly as much.
