What will we do when every 1st party N64 controller is gone?
What will we do when every 1st party N64 controller is gone?
You know what I mean. Those joysticks are complete bullshit. Is there such a thing as a decent 3rd party controller? Does anyone still make NEW replacement joysticks? It will be a sad day when it comes........

I tried. I really tried to follow yr post. But what are you asking?

N64 joysticks get very loose and crappy over time. Good quality official controllers that don't have bad joysticks are getting pretty hard to come by lately, and they will get loose and crappy too. I cant find new replacement joysticks anywhere, just nintendo ones stripped out of Nintendo controllers. I would accept a 3rd party controller if it was decent, but it seems like none exist. Get it?noiseredux wrote:I tried. I really tried to follow yr post. But what are you asking?

I know what you mean, every time I touch my controller I'm afraid I'm wearing it down. Everything breaks eventually, but they are pretty bad.

I'm not sure if it's gonna be that big of problem any time soon. I've heard about the horrible worn joystick of the N64 controllers, but I think they account for less then 1% of all the N64 controllers I've come across. I think I might have played with a screwed up joystick once before, but I don't really remember. I own 4 or 5 controllers myself, and all the joysticks are fine.

Miller Jim: I see third party party controllers on estarland but they look like trash. I want the original feel of the n64 controller. they also offer replacement joysticks but they are used and I bet they are taken out of old/broken controllers. They might last for awhile but I have been on a serious N64 kick lately and my n64 get ALOT of play by me and my friends + family.

The best ones i've seen are the ones made by Hori. The joystick they used is the exact ones made by Nintendo for the gamecube controllers, so it doesn't suffer from the same fate as the regular N64 joysticks, but still has the same quality. However the d-pad location on these is a little crap, so its recommended for games that use Joystick instead.
