FileFront Shutting Down

Sad news: FileFront is shutting down on Monday, March 30. If you've got files uploaded, or if there's anything there you've been meaning to download, now's the time to do it.

Here's their official statement:

We regret to inform you that we are forced to indefinitely suspend the FileFront site operations on March 30, 2009. If you have uploaded files, images or posted blogs, or if you would like to download some of your favorite files, please take this opportunity to download them before March 30th when the site will be suspended.

We would like to give a warm thank you to all of you who have been part of the FileFront communities we have built together. Your support has had a meaningful impact for all of us here at FileFront. Again, we want to give you a sincere “thank you” for your support over the years and wish you all the very best.

I'm really bummed about this. They were the best, and our main salvation from FilePlanet.

Oh, man. I really believe that they're honestly shutting down, but if this is really an April Fool's joke, I'm gonna laugh so hard at falling for their trick.

But I'm still downloading everything in sight.

Pfft. Probably an April fools. I'm going to be depressed if it actually happens though, it seems that decent file hosting sites are few and far between these days, especially ones that don't require a membership to download any files. I hate having to sign up to websites just to download files.
