The Future of Video Games - Hyperscan Game Console

Post by neomerge »

I am here to tell all of you about the future of video gaming. Its the Hyperscan Game Console. Forget the Wii, PS3, & the XBOX 360. The power is all in this new 32-bit console from Mattel. It essentially can be described as a cross between trading cards and a video game console. That is basically what it is. By using RFID technology we can now experience the best of both worlds. RFID stands for "Radio Frequency Identification" and it's already widely used in non-game settings. Tiny RFID chips can transmit data; manufacturers and retailers use them in packaging to track inventory and help prevent theft and counterfeiting. The HyperScan console allows players to scan RFID-imbedded cards and then play a video game based on the information in those cards. The winner of that video game could then scan his card again -- and that card could be granted new powers. Choose fierce head to head competition with your friends or play alone!

At only $69.99 this system is more than worth it. Additional card packs will be priced at $9.99 while new games and additional controllers will be priced at $19.99.

When you purchace this wonderfull system it is packed in with the newest X-Men game (1 cd and 6 game cards).
Known Future games will be Ben10 (Action/Adventure), IWL (Wrestling), and Avatar.

Gah, this is horrible. It's just one big marketing technique where they combine trading cards and video games. Why, mattel, why? Is this just so that parents will buy this because their kids like cards and games?
Maybe if the games were at all good, then I might not be on edge.

So, after this rant, I'll try to bring down mattel gently.

Dear mattel,
Without much thought at all, I have come to realize a few things.
1) Your games suck. Why buy a 32 bit game console for 70$ with horrible games, when I can buy a 32 bit system like, I dunno, saturn or playstation, with a wide selection of awesome games, for much less?
2) Your system sucks. You see, Your system has been outdated before it came out. (I don't know, I'm guessing ever since the nintendo 64) We already have 256 bit systems with tons of great games, and we also have those next gen systems, with what ever bit they are.
3) Your marketing technique sucks. Only someone under the influence, or somebody with not much gaming pride at all, would take this seriously. I, for one, take your product as an insult. As both a lover of Trading card games, and an obsessed gamer, I find your product just a money grabber, nothing more, nothing less. Please mattel, in the future, rethink your products before you release them. By now, you have wiped the minds of children around the world, of what gaming really is.

I picked up a modded saturn with around 3 controllers including a 3D one, plus the action replay 4-in-1 and composite cables for about 93 bucks including shipping. I think I really don't need any other 32-bit consoles until I get the money to get a modded PSX...
