Turn-Based Multiplayer PC RPG's

Post by Marspants »

I'm really into Heroes of Might and magic III right now, are there any other great turn based RPG's that anyone can think of that are similar in depth and awesomeness? The original Age Of Wonders is a blast too, and I like how you can play lan with simultaneous play. It really speeds up those massive matches.

Umm, I guess that kinda counts an RPG. Although it's more of a RTSRPG! :)
If you looking for a good RPG on the PC, then try Something like Icewind Dale! It's LAN and a lot of fun!
Life is as good as your game!

Septerra Core is turned based, in the sense of a JRPG

Would you be interested in titles like Warlords? Or maybe something more like Jagged Alliance?

Odium is kinda interesting. It's a turn-based tactical RPG with 3D graphics set in modern times. It's a slightly older game so it shouldn't tax any computer newer than about 5 years :) It can be quite fun, too.

I really like hotseat play with friends but real time games always seem to actually finish, where as turns seems to take all night lol. These look like some pretty good games, I'm going to try WarLords IV and see what that's like. Any of you guys ever do large turn-based games with some friends? Risk is a favorite of mine as well, but they always take sooo long! Maybe that's half the fun I suppose.

I used to play Civilization 2 regularly with my coworkers. We'd get a game going for a week at a time, two of us on work provided PCs and one on his laptop. I was doing a tech support job, and some days, we'd get maybe one call, maybe two. So we'd play turn based games because we simply had nothing better to do.

Man, those were good times.

Disciples/Disciples 2 are TBS/RTS, but they are incredibly long games.

I think I remember Magic and Mayhem 2 having a turn-based mode. I had some fun with it back when it came out.
