Commodore 1702 Monitor

Post by ryanstein »

Hey all, I found a local auction for a Commodore 1702 monitor that I can get for about $20 bucks. The only problem with it that I know of is that it is missing the front flap. Should I get it? Is the price reasonable? Or should I save my money for something else?

Absolutely get it. The Commodore 1702 has one of the best pictures of any video monitor I've seen. Perfect for retro gaming. Or hook up a tuner and watch TV, my brother did that for years with ours. Google around, you'll see that it's very highly regarded, and you won't be disappointed.

I have three, and all are amazing.

This monitor is cheap (I got all mine free), easy to find, nearly indestructible (you should see that abuse that me and my brothers have put them through), has an amazing picture quality, and is all around the best monitor I've ever owned.

Get it.

Well, unfortunately, we had a power outage when I was going to bid on the monitor. So, obviously, no monitor for me. Luckily, no one bid on it, so I'm going to contact the seller and see if I still can't pick it up. (Since no one bid on it... chance to haggle? 8))

And you can get s-vid to run on it through the back (plus a little cable hacking). This is a great tube, I bring it to all the cons.
