Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, Sonic & Knuckles, the obligatory S3&K marathon of joy, and now Sonic CD!
I have to say, Sonic CD left a fantastic impression on me; one of the best platforming experiences I've had. Not quite so much as the platforming epic of Sonic 3 & Knuckles, but it's one hell of a game. Easily my 2nd favorite Sonic game! I got the good ending, too, which I'm very proud of.
Awesome, awesome, awesome! I love the poor Sega CD and its tragically underrated software. I'm working through Ecco the Dolphin CD next, as well as continuing my progress in Shenmue II. The backloggery has been a godsend for giving me the initiative to complete these games, and I'm enjoying every minute of it... except, y'know, the moments of controller-hurling fury.
Just beat Sonic CD! That's all the 2D Sonics under my belt!

What'd you think of the race part with Metal Sonic at the end of the game? Getting stuck on slopes and then slowing to a walk frustrated me beyond belief. Congrats.

Re: Just beat Sonic CD! That's all the 2D Sonics under my belt!
This week I played some Sonic the Hedgehog and then some of number 2. I was thinking of making a thread but I'll just post my thoughts here instead if that's okay.
Anyway, I got up to the boss of Labyrinth Zone on Sonic 1. I thought "how the hell do you do this!?", but then I went online and it turns out that you don't actually have to beat Robotnik, just make your way through the obstacle course
. In that knowledge, next time I play it should be beatable.
Last night I was playing Sonic 2, and I found myself getting annoyed at some stuff. On Oil Ocean Zone, those seahorse things were shooting me before I had any time to react to them being on the screen - same with the starfish and crab things on Metropolis Zone. (oh god, how I hate those starfish
). On the one hand this could just be me being slow and shit, but I dunno...
Guess I'm just more of a Mario man. Don't get me wrong. The 2D Sonic's are class, but sometimes I find that some of the instances where enimies damage you can be a bit "cheap".
Also, what's up with the enimies in Sonic 2? They all remind me of Pokemon - those crab things, the mantis enemy, the Kingdras on Oil Ocean Zone. Obviously Sonic 2 came first though. I'm just saying...

And finally, I offer you a Shenmue II high five. Where about are you at?Original_Name wrote:as well as continuing my progress in Shenmue II

I have beat all those too,but does anyone know how to beat Sonic 2 w/Knuckles.I have a problem with beating it at the end,Knuckles doesn't jump high enough to hit Robotnik.Does anyone else have this problem?Original_Name wrote:Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, Sonic & Knuckles, the obligatory S3&K marathon of joy, and now Sonic CD!
