I have been approached with the offer to buy a copy of a lot of Japanese Gamecube and Wii titles. Among these are Capcom Vs Tatsunoko, Kururin Squash, and the Nintendo Puzzle Collection, there are about 10 titles and the guy wants a very fair price. The questions I have are:
1. Does the Wiibrew freeloader launch Cube games? I am guessing no but am hopeful
2. How well does it run Capcom Vs Tatsunoko? Meaning is there any slowdown or display errors.
3. Any must have imports apart from the obvious CvT?
I imagine the answer may lie on the website but I am currently at work and will be stuck here for the next few hours and ofcourse it is blocked.
Thank you
Anyone have experience with the Wii homebrew freeloader?
Re: Anyone have experience with the Wii homebrew freeloader?
I heard a rumor that the freeloader doesn't work on 3.4 firmware wiis, but i could be wrong.
You could always softmod your wii. The softmii.com site has a kit to do it, and although at times it seems a little tech heavy, it is totally worth it. It'll run burns and imports off the disc channel no problem. No need to patch the iso or anything. I played a burn of tatsunoko vs capcom with it without slowdown or any problems.
Disaster day of crisis might be worth importing. Maybe lets tap! too?
[*edit*] I thought you were talking about the datel freeloader disc. I can't speak for how well the freeloader channel works. I've never used it. You do need a different channel for gamecube games, but there is a loader for that. I think that burns need to be patched with a program to run. Softmii is a better way to go. I think freeloader only spins the discs at 1x speed, soft does it at 3x (out of 6x) The load times are barely noticeable. Burns run faster, and off the disc channel.

Re: Anyone have experience with the Wii homebrew freeloader?
Tatsunoko Vs Capcom runs perfectly on my Wii, I didn't had any problems with it so far. The Homebrew channel does work with the latest Firmware update so you don't need to worry about anything.
It's like playing on a Japanese console

Thanks fellas. When I called the guy back this morning he had already sold the lot. But I may be buying the cube imports from playasia anyway.
Thank you again
