Chaos Field for Gamecube... worth getting?

Post by Flak Beard »

A local game shop I frequent has a sealed copy of Chaos Field for $15. I'm very tempted to get it. How would you rate this game? Worth my time and money?

Are you thinking for collecting/investment or for playing?

Playing most likely. Not really much of a sealed game collector. Would this be one worth keeping in the package though?

I cannot imagine it being worth that much sealed or opened. It was recently released on the Wii in the shooting collection and is only slightly more on ebay. It is not the best game but, like all shmups, itll atleast provide fun for a short time. If you dont have a Wii I would say get it. If you do have a Wii I say hunt down the collection instead.

Yeah, if you're just in it for the game, I'd get the Ultimate Shooting Collection if you plan on getting a Wii soon. That has Chaos Field and two other shmups from the same developer.

But otherwise, Chaos Field isn't bad, but you can get it much cheaper opened on eBay.

I hate to be the one to do this, but if you're just looking to play, and if you have a Dreamcast, just download the ISO and play it. I bought it for GC, and still own it (I have it complete if you're interested), but I didn't find it all that intriguing. Of course, it's hard to compete with the other GC shmups, being only Ikargua, Radirgy, er... that Castle one... And I believe that's it?

Ultimate shooting collection is tempting, especially after listening the incredible soundtracks to Radirgy and Chaos Field to bits.. however, are there ANY news at all about this one coming to Europe? It's a US publisher, I know.. but still :/ a man can dream?

Finally got around to purchasing this, but managed to snag a complete used copy at Gamestop for only $5. I like the game so far, but it is certainly harder than a lot of SHMUPs I've played.
