My Megadrive hates my Gamecube!
Today I hooked up both my Megadrive/Genesis and Gamecube to my TV at the same time through a SCART splitter to save myself the bother of unplugging all the time. The Gamecube worked fine but every time I turned on the Megadrive the sound was distorted with a lot of background buzzing. I cleaned the connections, etc but it continued. Then I noticed something weird. When I turn on the Megadrive the power light on the Gamecube goes on! Weird! So I unplugged the GC from the SCART splitter and immediately the sound of the Megadrive became perfect. I never had this problem with other consoles plugged in at the same time. I can think of only one explanation: the Megadrive was trying to rape the Gamecube through the SCART connection. The sound distortion was the Gamecube crying for help. Sad and shocking...
Mostly harmless

I use a scart splitter with buttons and i can have many consoles on at once without interference. Before that i used one without buttons and if i were to use the psx i had to disconnect everything else from the splitter because the sound volume got lower and the picture darker.
So if the problem persist try one of these or similar ones.

That's weird. I've experienced something similar using one of those multi-RF adaptors. I think it was my Saturn and SNES that didn't like being plugged in at the same time. I'd turn on the Saturn, and the LED on the SNES would come on and I'd get no video.

Yeah. Those cheap SCART splitters are shit. Absolute pure shit. All they do is push signal down the same cable rather than isolating each socket. So if anything else is plugged in and has power running through it your image sucks on all the other devices plugged into it.
You might as well just throw it away and buy one with buttons on.
