Street Fighter III

Post by SpaceBooger »

Since I am waiting to play SF4 on my PC. I decided to play some SF3 on my arcade cab with MAME. But for some reason only Third Strike works. When I open up SF3-1 or SF3-2 I get no pic just sound.
I remember them working before, I think.
Could I have messed up the rom or chd?
Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it?
I mean if I only play Third Strike thats not that bad, but I do want to play them in chronological order.
Any help wold be appreciated.

Awww come on, 3rd strike is way better than the first two. You really aren't missing much(the backgrounds in 2nd impact are nice).

If you've got a dreamcast, you can download Double Impact and try them out easily.

Yeah, I would recommend Double Impact. Dunno how it runs on a DC emu, but as far as getting it on the DC itself, it's a great value.

Double Impact is my favorite version of SF3, SF3 & SF3:2nd Impact just really had this cool jazzy/rock/chiptune feel that I found SF3:3rd Strike to lack. That and the fact that the stages in the first two SF3's rock! Then again I played Double Impact first.

I thought nobody had unencrypted the first 2? I thought only 3rd Strike was unencrypted?

I just played the first 2 as roms, no problem, so I guess they did. Unless your talking about another system?

I dunno. The last time I tried CPS emulation was a couple of years ago...

I think the problem is with the formatting of the CD (CHD).
I formatted it for SF3II and it worked and when I went to load SF3III it said the game was a newer version and asked me to update the CD (CHD) by reformatting it... so I did. Now III works but not II.
